The accredited breeders scheme was started in 2008. Although it has been revised quite a few times since then, it still serves the same purpose today. The scheme was designed to help promote good husbandry from our TDR registered members. Those who wish to take part can use their Bronze, Silver and Gold medals on their websites to show people that they are doing their best for their dogs and puppies and it is a badge of honour and shows they are providing top quality service to their customers.

As well as benefiting the breeders it also benefits the breed, by testing their breeding dogs for health issues that exist in the German Shepherd, Siberian Husky etc they are also safeguarding the future health of the Tamaskan breed and catching any signs of genetic illness early on.   Also some requirements such as the Gold level  IV.  Do not do repeat matings but use new male for each litter helps to keep the Tamaskan gene pool diverse and discourages inbreeding.

 

Bronze Members

To belong to the Bronze Accredited Breeders Scheme you MUST complete the following requirements

  1. Breed only TDR registered Tamaskan Dogs

  2. Breed only a female over 15 months and a male over 12 months

  3. Breed females only once every 12 months

  4. Breed only from dogs who have passed the following health tests according to the requirements of the Tamaskan Dog Register     A) Hips  B) PRA Eyes  C) DM

  5. All puppies must have rear dewclaws removed

  6. All puppies must have a minimum of their first vaccination

  7. All puppies must be sold with a TDR approved contract

  8. All puppies must be sold with a copy of their pedigree

  9. All puppies must be sold with lifetime support

 

Silver Members

To belong to the Silver Accredited Breeders Scheme you MUST complete the Bronze level as well as the following requirements

  1. Breed only from dogs that are over 24 months of age

  2. Breed only from dogs who have passed the following health tests according to the requirements of the Tamaskan Dog Register    A) Elbow Scoring 

  3. All puppies must be microchipped

  4. All puppies must be vet checked before leaving the breeder

  5. All puppies must be sold with a puppy pack that includes food/diet sheet/pedigree/contract and contact details

  6. Use a wide selection of males each mating

  7. Be visited by a TDR member to check living conditions of all dogs are sanitary and safe

  8. All male puppies must come with testicle certificates

 

 

Gold Members

To belong to the Gold Accredited Breeders Scheme you MUST complete the Bronze and Silver level as well as the following requirements.

  1. Breed only from dogs who have passed the following health tests according to the requirements of the Tamaskan Dog Register    A) Dwarfism   B) Von Willebrands

  2. All puppies must have a full course of puppy vaccinations paid for by the breeder

  3. All puppies must be sold with a puppy pack that includes a toy and treats

  4. Do not do repeat matings

  5. Be visited by a TDR member to check living/birthing conditions for litters are sanitary and safe.
